I'm upgrading my pc with a nice graphics card but the internal DVD player is in the way. It going to go but wondering if anyone still uses them at all?

Nope. Get an external DVD drive and plug it into whatever computer needs it.

I'm still using mine, but my case has plenty of room for accessories.

Yep. Don't see the sense in wasting money on a television, so laptop DVD player it is.

Me too.
I have a DVD ROM, A DVD RW that is used a lot, and a floppy disc drive.

I pushed Windows off of my desktop a few months ago. Ubuntu Gnome didn't even require special software to run the floppy drive.

I've got a blu-ray writer, but its mostly for data backups.  If its in the way ditch it and get a USB one if you ever need it

I've got one but I do not use it. I think I unplugged the SATA and power to plug in another hard drive.

Yes, but my case has room without interfering with anything else.  If it did, I'd just put a USB3 external on it and call it a day.

This.

I'm due for a new desktop but expect the newer connections for external drives  will make up for not  being internal.

Yep, I've got the same as the above. My floppy drive is so special that it has a card reader that likes to eat the cards...
My CM ATCS-840 is a full tower, so I got 3 more bays if I ever want to get a Bluray combo drive.

This. I have a large case that won't run out of room anytime soon. Probably the last PC case I'll ever need. HAF 932.

I agree with the previous posts on external drives.

I had to get an slim profile external drive for my wife's MacBook Air, but now I use it for myself.  If you need the space, I can't imagine you'd notice.

My new gaming pc has no DVD/BD drive.  I'm all digital downloads.

For my new computer, I elected to go with a gaming laptop (with Desktop-quality processor and it's own separate graphics card) that didn't have a DVD player.

I was actually kinda concerned about that.

Fortunately, it came with (this actually wasn't advertised on the site) an external DVD drive.

Which I have used... once.

So yeah... not necessary.
