My laptop went down again. When trying to start it says missing file
\windows\system32\config\system
I dont want to loose everything can anyone help me get this going?

Well, this has worked for me, but I've also heard it doesn't.

Boot off the XP cd, and select 'repair'.

As I said, it worked for me, but I know a couple of people that lost everything when it was done.
