I went to Home Depot and purchased a three 50w light bar to take this still. It was not bright enough to remove the shadows between the lights on the whiter poster board background. Can you guys recommend some cheap lighting solutions for stills?

The problem isn't that the work lights weren't bright enough.  The problem was the lack of directional fill.

For small items like your Kimber, build a five-sided box and staple a rope light to all the surfaces (except the base, of course.) Very flat, even light (if that's the look you seek...) I used to use Christmas lights. For fun, I'd mix up the colors and get some nice highlight effects. But an all-white rope light works well for what you want.

Yep, less about how bright a light is and more about the quality and direction of the light.

Soft directional light is your friend.
