Only had the camera for a week or so, but I'm very happy with the results so far. I upgraded from a D80 for the improved ISO performance and faster FPS for sports. I think I'm going to like CaptureNX for single photo post-processing, too. I still like PSE6 for large numbers of JPG's, though.

Congrats! I love my D300. I still use my D200 and D80, but the D300 is the workhorse now.

Luv the train pic.  I upgraded from a d80 to a d200 (after the d300 came out and price really dropped), but I would luv to have a d300.

Definitely (although I think that's more a function of photographer having the gumption to be at the right place and the right time than it is of his equipment).

Yes that's true.  The camera didn't hurt though!  

Personally, I think that image could be worth some money.  Contact the railroad company.
