I've got Elements 5.0 and I like it a lot. Considering the price, it's an excellent package. I haven't worked with other programs.
I picked up a book this past weekend, and it's really expanded what I've been able to do with it. |

I picked up the free 30 day trial version. Thre is a lot there, I just don't know if it's what I need.

I use Paint.Net for my photo and image editing needs. It has the features I use, it's free, it's maintained with frequent releases, and there is a community that creates plugins for it.

For photo processing Canon's DPP is good (zoombrowser .... no
 )photo editing .... Adobe Elements is a good pro-sumer package. |
