Canon 20D.  But the quality of the pic has more to do with the lens than the camera.

That bird has been teasing me for almost a year! I see him in other peoples' yards as I drive by and by the time I break out my camera he has flown off. Yesterday, my wife was driving away from the house for a hair appointment and saw him in our backyard...she called me on my cell phone and I high-tailed it out the garage without a shirt on...

What lens are you using there.  Those are very sharp photos.  Very crisp detail.

Figured.  I don't have the cash to pony up for the L's yet.  My wife is pissed I found something more expensive than guns as a hobby so I had to work hard to keep from being killed for getting a Sigma 24-130mm lens.   It's nice but it just doesn't come close to a good L.  Prime at that.

Again nicely shot it is after all the person behind the camera more than the equipment.  You have a good eye.

The great thing about this piece of glass is, it's much cheaper than most of the long L zooms.  It goes for about $1100 new, but you can find them used for around $950 all day long.  I picked mine up for $850 and it was a steal.

Canon makes some superb non-L glass as well (for cheap too).  I'm a huge fan of the 100mm f/2.8 Macro and the 50mm f/1.8.  Here's a shot of a spider in my room (he/she was about 1/4 inch long).  Macro shots are my favorite...  Click the pic for a 50% view.

Yes, I love my 10-22 and 50 f1.4, both of which are non-L.  But what Canon doesn't make is superb LONG non-L glass.  IMHO, none of the non-L Canon lenses over 135mm are worth having.  If you want a nice, inexpensive L telezoom, the 70-200 f4L can be had used for around $500.  It's a superb lens for the money.
