Besides the small size of the cameras what else drives the popularity of the RX100 series of cameras?  They all have a 1” sensor which I guess is good for such a small camera.  They’ve been around for a while now. What else draws the relative high price?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I’m referring to other mirrorless fixed lens APS-C OR micro 4/3 cameras.

I've had the RX100 II for a few years now.  It's a well made camera, with a good sensor.  I like it.

One small gripe I have about it, is that the minimum (smallest) aperture is f/11, and the base ISO is 160.  So if you want a slow shutter speed on a sunny day......fuhgeddaboudit.

I picked up the RX100ii for a decent price. Decided I didn’t need to go for the latest model.  I like it so far. Shoots good pictures and fits in my pocket nicely.

I bought the first model in October 2013.  My primary reason was to have a point and shoot that would record in RAW format.  There were very few that did.  It is my go-to when I don't want to carry a DSLR.
