Just a follow up on my Nikon 10-20 DX lens, it works great. So far works every bit as good as my 10-24 zoom, and at a third of the weight. So if you don't need that extra two-thirds stop, f/3.5 versus f/4.5, go the 10-20 zoom. It has VR, but I find that I never needed, but on the D5200 you can't turn it off, it is "on" 100% of the time, period. On the D7100 models & up you can flip a mechanical switch to "off."
