Buddy of mine tells me he's planning to hit a local birding spot about 3 hours away from here tomorrow, says I'm welcome to come along.

I tell him it's a bit of a stretch for my little bike to haul me, the GF, camera bag, tripod etc.

He says no worries, you can ride with me.

I'm like OK cool, lemme know when and where to meet.

..he texts me a few minutes ago.

So I'll see you at 6am at the birding spot, careful on the ride up!

Then go have a nice lunch somewhere, and enjoy the day in town with your GF.

Oh, I already hit him back up.

I said I won't be able to make it. He seemed genuinely concerned as to why.

I said oh, you said I could ride with you, then bailed on me. No worries, maybe next time.

Part of the reason I moved here was to get away from stress and getting pissed off at stuff.

Might not be for everyone but it works for me!

My bag's already packed, might just end up going somewhere else and shooting.

My brother does dumb shit like that. His wife is constantly on. Doesnt shut up. He blocks out her voice and ignores her so I figure hes shell shocked and leave him be.

Oh, I plan to try and meet up with him again. It's a pretty short list of people over here that have comparable enough gear to make a photo outing interesting for me. Not many Filipinos can afford a D500 and long lenses, which he can.
