Here's a few:









I've mostly been taking pictures of the same old stuff, or have posted them elsewhere.

Jupiter & Venus from a few nights ago.

35mm, f/1.8, 3 sec, ISO200

looks like you're enjoying it.

Yessir.  Two things have added to the fun; much better low light performance and that 35mm prime.

This is with the 70-300, though.

The 7100 has excellent low light/ high ISO performance. Flipping mind blowing, really.

Yeah it still gets a bit noisy but it's not overwhelming, even when cranked to max. A few trips to the PI ago, I did a night time ambient light shot and while it was noisy...it was respectable. My prior D90 couldn't have even come close to getting that shot.

ISO eqivalent of 25,600.

This was about a year back but I'm reasonably confident that it was done in aperture priority. 2.8 on the aperture, max ISO, exif says 1/13 for the shutter speed. VR came in handy here.



Sure, it's noisy as fuck. But...if this was a once in a lifetime shot that just couldn't be done any other way...I'm ok with it.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention..this wasn't a RAW. This was straight to JPG and essentially spat straight outta the camera with minimal processing.

Yup!  Its great!  I loved my D7100!

 

I remember when you first posted that.  It was what got me off my ass on getting a new body that had better low-light than the D200.  Only took me a year, but hey!

And just shot this one...

f/5.6, 1/400, ISO600, 300mm.  About a 60% crop and some fidlding with sharpness, color balance, exposure, and saturation in Lightzone.  Haunch is dead-nuts in focus, but the head is just a smidgen past the focal plane.  Oh well, he was sitting next to the patio and I had to sneak back in and grab the camera, then sneak back out.  he bolted on shutter release.
