I love to photograph birds. My favorite are the raptors. I have hundreds of photos so I thought I would share a few here.

Female Osprey rebuilding the nest after storm damage:

Osprey defending it's perch:

Osprey reflection with fish:

Female American Bald eagle imitating an F-15 after an Osprey buzzed her nest:

Her triumphant return after chasing the Osprey away:

I have been tracking this female (on left) for a decade. She is huge compared to the males.

Preparing for lift-off:

I love raptors - especially Bald Eagles and Ospreys.  The "Osprey reflection with fish" shot is cool.

Thanks for the kind comments. I live in St. Petersburg, FL. These shots all were taken within a few miles from my home. I was using either a Nikon D300 or a Nikon D700. The lens was either a Nikon 300mm f/4 prime with a 1.4x teleconverter or a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom.

Wow! Awesome shots. I have a 300 f/4 coming my way in the mail (the old screwdriver style), so that's really awesome to see such great shots with it and a TC.

Probably one of the best values for a prime lens. I took these pics of a Long-Billed Curlew a couple of day ago with my D700 and the 300mm f/4 + 1.4x tele combo:
