I'm new to using a green screen and just recently got one to be able to get rid of the background and add a new one.  The only problem is that the light reflecting off the green screen causes a green hue on the edges of the subject in the foreground that I'm trying to keep in the picture.   I'm wondering if standing the individual or object further away from the green screen will help???

Yep, keep your subject away from the backdrop if possible.

You can also use opposite colors to backlight your subject (green is opposite of purple). This will negate the green reflecting off the backdrop. Just make sure you don't overdo it, or you'll have a weird colorcast to the subject.

Hair is often a problem, if you're shooting a blond(e), blue is usually easier to key off of than green.

Yup definitely keep your subject as far from the screen as possible.



What your seeing is called "spill" and you can use the spill suppressor in your keying software to get rid of it.
