Looks good to me. Maybe beef up the video card a little, but other than that, it should be a good budget system.

I was thinking of going with that card for a year and then looking at the 7800. I could go up to the 6800XT for another $26, but I'm not going above a 6800XT for sure.

You mean 6800GT? If so, then it would definately be worth the upgrade. You will gain double the pixel pipelines on the card. |

No, I mean XT... its that or the GS... they do not offer the GT and I am not paying $75 over the price of the 6600GT for the 6800GS.

The 6600GT should definately last you until you afford a 7800. I am getting rid of both of my 7800GTX cards in my main gaming machine soon, gonna go SLI with the 7900 cards when they come out
