Are you talking about the .50 BMG M95 Barret?

If so... it is in the game. It's one of the 'Tier 1' unlocks for BF2. wiki.bf2s.com/weapons/unlocks/m95

There are several more unlockable weapons. Even more if you have BF2: Special Forces.

I have all the Tier #1 & #2 weapon unlocks.

No, that is a modeled M82.

The files for it are installed on your computer, atleast the visual representation for it. A modder could very easily add it by giving it's stats the features of a semiauto 10 shot rifle with 50BMG game damage.

But for some reason they made the M95 the unlockable and the M82 is not something you can use in the game.

You are correct.
It is an M-82A1. But it is coded, and actually complete enough to be put ingame. But EA screwed it up so it is basically worthless. Which is why I am trying to fix it.

Do you mean the M107?

The Model 95 Barrett would be a 5rd bolt-action .50 BMG rifle, much more reliable than the newly designated M107 (used to be M82A1M).

No, it is not a M-107. Doesn't look like it has the M-107 upgrades.

As for calling it an M-82A1, that is what the files are listed as.

Then in that case, It must have been the old M82 model. The XM109 is a lot more fun anyhow, too bad it isn't in the game.

The XM-109 is in the POE mod for BfV. It will also be in the POE2 mod at some point

I'm having a terrible time finding ranked games to be able to unlock guns. Any options?

Make sure you have the "Ranked" check box in the Server Browser filter checked. It will display only Ranked Servers when checked.

Ranked servers will have the Rank symbol next to the red "2" or green "2' (BF2: SF).

It''ll be the fourth symbol from the left, if it's a ranked server. It kinda looks like a Lance Corporal rank insignia (two ^ on top of each other).

Did you just rename all the M82A1 files & folders as M95 files (and renaming the M95 as something else..). So, that you can play it?

Or is there an easier way to select it via single player mode?

Yeah, but there are only 1 or 2 ranked games at the most. And they're in Russia. I am using the in-game server, is that the problem.

Something is wrong then. Do you have the most recent patch installed? What version # are you running (top right of screen).

Also, maybe you have something in the filter that's screwing up your Ranked server lists. The filters are screwed up in the server browser menu. Use the settings that I have. Then you can weed it down to what you like.

I get close to two thousand Ranked servers. It varies from day to day. I've seen it over 2,000 before.

I had the same problem. I got the latest patched and now I have over 2000. Get the latest patch.

My guess is its supposed to be the third 3rd tier unlock for the sniper in Special forces..but I don't see it.

All the other classes have a new one, assault has FS2000, Spec ops has a SCAR L, support has SCAR H, I forget what the others are...but I don't see one for sniper.

It was NOT put ingame. Inorder to get it you have to change some files in the client objects and client server files. the weapon is coded tho.

Tt was in the BF:2 Demo. They changed it to the M95 in the Release because they thought the M82 was too powerful as a semi-auto .50BMG for snipers.

You can still get the demo and play it with the M82 if you can find any demo servers.

Me too. I usually find so many servers that I have to go get a drink while I am waiting for them to download.

With SF last night, however, I only got around 150, but I had several filters active.

THe M-82 was in the demo, but you had to do a server side mod to get it.
