Hello,

Since I can't get the real ones and the 37mm flare launchers just don't look like the real deal I decided to go for airsoft. I'm planning to buy G&P M203 launcher

Will it fit without any tinkering my 20" Gov't barrel??? Can I use Gov't M203 handguards or do I have to buy the G&P ones?

Anyone have any pics of their setups????

Thanks!!!
Petri

Yes it will fit. Most Tokyo Marui, CA an G&P Armalites are built very similar to their real conterparts. The TM guns usually need a new "one piece barrel" to use a non RIS M203. But since your AR doesn't have that problem any M203 should work.

I have seen custom built TM M4s with more real AR15 external parts on them than airsoft versions of the same part.

An airsoft RIS rail will also fit a real AR15. So if you decide to change forends you can simply change to a M203 RIS version.

Look around Ebay, you might find someone selling just the launcher and you can save $50. Since the shells are pretty finicky you'll probably be happier just using a dummy M203 shells if you want something to load and unload for fun.

But if you do want to use the shells you can get help at a lot of different sites. If you want some links just ask.

Did he just... no, no, I must be mistaken, I'm just going to close this thread, and never come back.

I didn't see anything.

the 37mm flare launcher is going to look better than some airsoft POS on a real gun

And it might actually be useful for something.

Don't know about the handguard, sorry. Never needed to replace one. They were always more than durable enough to stand up to whatever could be thrown at them.

And none of the guys I run with that used and still use real M203s have ever complained about them being too weak compaired to the real thing.

Actually, if you're just going for the look - which I assume that you are - you'd probably be better off using the 1:1 replica of the M203 that DPMS makes.  It uses a solid receiver and the barrel has no rifling.  It does open and close and has the M203 grip.  It can attach to a 20" or a carbine and comes with non-marring spacers if you want to attach it to a thin barrel.  I have two of them, and here's one of my AR15's with one on:

If you're interested in my other one, I'd sell it for $200.  It has the full length handguard, and leaf sight.  If you're interested, I even have the carry handle sight I'd add in for another $25.

So, it'll be the LESS LETHAL option on your use of force continuum?
