Anyone else get Mad Max? It dropped on Steam last night... I had mine preloaded so I was able to play for a half hour or so this morning before I left for work.

So far it seems really, really fun. Kind of like the Batman Arkham games meets the old Vigilante 8 / Twisted Metal. AKA a beat-em-up on wheels in a big open world. The graphics on PC are pretty nice, the control with an XB1 controller feels smooth and natural like the Arkham games (easy to freeflow combos, perform counters and drive like a madman) and the "world" feels very pre-Fury Road Mad Max. It has RPG-ish elements like upgradable cars, upgradable Max armor, etc. If you played the Batman Arkham games it uses a very similar system with some additional bits bolted on. And a major plus for me it has native ultrawide support.

I was going to wait to play this until I played Phantom Pain, but this game has the hook in me early... fuck MGS for now I will ride to Valhalla instead, shiny and chrome!

It got a good review on IGN.

I think I would be interested in playing it one day.  I still have to finish GTA V before fallout 4 comes out though, so it will have to wait for me.

I am also curious about this game. I won't be spending 59.99 on it but I'll watch some youtube videos to see how it is.

It looks like the game is getting mostly 7's in online reviews. The few reviews that I read at lunch I agree with their critical points only a half hour into the game... that while smooth and nice to look at the game is most likely story shallow and full of filler. But for someone like me who just wants to drive around and ram things then hop out and beat the tar out of people, the game resonates. And considering how much I enjoyed the Arkham games and Fury Road, I am most likely this game's target market.

Got mad max and mgs v.

Haven't played the mad max yet, but I've been looking forward to it since it was first mentioned.

The one thing I was worried about, apparently  is true? Being repetitive. ..

I always take "repetitive" review comments with a grain of salt, because when you think about it pretty much every game on the market is repetitive... you are doing the same core actions over and over and over again. The only thing that changes is the scenery and the reason you are doing it. Go here get this, bring it here give it to this guy, get something else and take it here, escort this person here, beat the shit out of these people here. All that matters to me is that I'm having fun, and when you are having fun you can ignore a lot of otherwise grindy or boring stuff.

Got both Mad Max and MG on PS4. I'm really enjoying Mad Max. It took about a half hour for it to get its hooks in me, but now I'm loving it. On foot and driving are both fun. Exploring the wasteland is great. The lighting effects and sky look amazing. I don't think I'll break the seal on MG until I'm done with this one.  To me, it's one of those rare games that you can't wait to get back to playing.

I took a break from MGS to play mad max. Played for about 30 minutes and it was pretty fun.

I wanna give it a try.  I've found digital codes on ebay for $30 or I'll wait for Steam discount.  I want to finish MGS before I jump into another lengthy game.

I played it for a while last night and spent most of my time just fucking around pulling down scarecrows, taking out snipers and harassing patrols and convoys.

I really like the satisfying crash and explode that happens when you get a good t-bone hit on a vehicle under nitro boost. They really got the "feel" of Mad Max car combat down with this game. The brawling is very run of the mill but the vehicular mayhem is hilarious. My MO is to come at a patrol from the sides, ram the lead car then circle and harpoon the stragglers out of their vehicles.

And I can't be the only one who laughs like a maniac when Chumbucket clambers into the cab and starts frantically slapping Max trying to put out a cabin fire.

I'm about 3-4 hours into it myself and sitting here riding out my first storm... How long do these last? Feel like I been trapped in my shelter for 5 minutes now. Which is an eternity in video game time lol

I was in one for about 5 minutes. I got smacked in the face by scrap metal.

Hahaha it was so cool
