My only question is WHY are they insisting that they can improve upon the combat resource mechanics by throwing out time units? Every "spiritual successor" has been a let down because they threw out the old combat system.

I'm not gonna be Charlie Brown and try to kick the "oh they're remaking something cool so the remake will be cool too!" football. We've only seen that turn into disappointment like 8,000 times before. |

My biggest complaint is that there are classes for soldiers (sniper, assault, etc) that is not changeable and each has unique special abilities (some activated).

Its legit, from what I have seen they are staying with the DOS gameplay with a little update here and there.

I like the base design thing. I was worried they'd throw out all the strategic elements that made the first game such a classic.

I see that the game is going to be "ESRB Rated M for Mature: Blood and Gore, Strong Language, Violence."
Good sign, IMO. ETA: Release date is Oct 9, 2012. |
