I registered for the Birkebeiner 54K cross country ski event.  I call it an "event" as opposed to "race", because I won't be doing any racing.  I've never been on cross country skis in my life.  I signed up on a whim.  I need to buy cross cuntry gear.

Any input from those in the know?  Anything at all?

Skiing 54K? I think I'll pass. Now if you sad 54K walk in 24 hours, I'd be game.



Come to think of it I could make that my mid-term fitness goal. 50km walk in under 24 hours.
