All my serious lifting pals say I won't gain at all if I run. But if I run I find I can eat! Any ideas?

I don't think "you won't gain at all" as they say.
I think if you overdo the aerobics you won't see as much gain from your weight training, but IMHO 2-3 miles x 3 days a week is not enough to decrease your testosterone levels significantly.
Excessive aerobics will "eat into your muscle mass".
Levels of testosterone decreases,Growth hormone does not increase, and cortisol levels increase.
Not helpful things for someone who wants to increase their muscular mass.
However,if you are like me,and a lot of other people who just want to keep their fat content down and look reasonably well fit, what you are doing is fine!
If you want to grow, have periods of :
A)intense weight training, increased caloric intake ,and shorter times (but more intense) aerobic training(1-2 miles with sprints).....maybe during Fall and Winter!
with
B)intense weight training [;)],decreased caloric intake and, intense or moderate aerobic training........maybe in the Spring/Summer
Yeah, the old "bulk up" and "cutting" phases we've read so much about.[:)]
