Behlings Orchards in Mexico (Arthur): Know them very well!

Behlings is opening but other than a very few "early" apples, they aren't ready yet.
I'll try to remember to post updates with when and what's ready (if there's a call for it). |

Abbotts in a Baldwinsville has always been our orchard of choice. Big enough to handle a quality festival/event and have a BIG selection of apples & products but still small enough to sneak in and out of in an hour on a Tuesday afternoon.

I just finished peach ?? picking. I have a tree that I started from a pit I planted in 2005. Every odd year it presents me with a huge bounty of fruit. Unfortunately, unlike apples ??, the peaches all ripen around the same time and go bad rather quickly. I have stored apples for weeks but peaches no such luck.

Being interested in growing Apples, there is really a LOT of work and things to be done to the trees and budding fruit, for example when apples first appear the bunch like grapes and you cull them down to one or two at least six inches apart. That's what allows the apples to grow to eating size.

Don't hate them, they built a fucking empire off apples, I think its awesome what they've done. Try Owens orchard just outside of Elbridge, its a really nice place with some killer apples View Quote That's what I'm looking for. Having said that, anybody gone to Cackleberry Castle since it reopened? I'm going to go this year. It was a tradition growing up. |

We always get apples here when we come up to Salmon fish. We pass this place every day on our way to and from the river. We stay at a friends house in Mexico.... View Quote |

Went today for the first time. I've never seen bigger apples in my life. Place was perfect. You should go apple picking sometime when you can afford it. Then you won't have to shit in threads basking in your own self-righteousness. Congratulations on saving five dollars. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Man Behlings has some honking apples. As good as it gets for me. Appledale also has some good ones when you're in "grab and go" mode.
On a kinda related note we were looking for "dilly" beans from the Amish but couldn't find any. These things are rediculously delishious but we checked most of the roads around Mexico on the way to Pulaski but couldn't find any. Lots of vegetable stands and such but no canned dilly beans. The Amish are buying LOTS of land around there and we saw 2 different schools. We almost killed one of the buggies at dusk. Seems all they have to do is put a candle lantern on the side of it to comply with the law. I also dropped some coin in collose cheese damn I love that place! |
