I am also one of the Local NY LI shooters, but not quite one of the usual suspects. With having to work six days a week and only being off on during the midweek, It has made me a no show at the (four?) local shoots, and a man with two rifles that haven't even been shot yet.

Damn, now I'm really bummed

Let us know when you can shoot and I'm sure some of the usual suspects can make a week day shoot once in a while.

Hoplite...when you taking your trip to VMI and making that stop you were talking about.

Vinnie how are you and how is the job going...I  think there will be lots of OT if there is a strike so you are going to be a rich man soon

Rich?  I work for the NYPD, remember.  I will however have money to pick up one or two new guns.

Hopefully I'll be out of the Academy in January.  So far it's going well.

I need help from you long islanders. I need to know a few good ranges. I got to the Mitchell athletic complex one in nassau, but it's $15 an hour, only 25M, and doesn't allow rapid fire.
I used to go to the Long Island Shooting Center in Islip, with my Marlin 882SS (22Mag), but they don't allow anything bigger.
I'm looking for someplace longer than 25M, something better than $15 an HOUR!!, and finally, if possible, allows semi-auto rapid fire.(I'm flexible on the rapid fire, I understand why some places don't want it.)
I've heard there are come places all the way out in calverton, but does anyone know of anything closer? (To NYC/Nassau)
 Please let me know, thanks!

There is a club in freeport that has an indoor and outdoor range.  I am not sure of the specs and price of teh place but EDPMEDIC would know.  Send him an email because he is a member there and can probably field whatever questions you may have
