I've never been before and the wife wants to go this weekend. I was thinking that carrying firearms there was prohibited, but then saw that they hold gun shows at the fairgrounds. Aside from that, I can't find any info on the subject.

Anyone know?

Never seen any evidence of CCW prohibition. I carry there whenever I go.

No signs I saw.  It was too hot to carry anything but a water bottle when I went.  I need to look into a pocket pistol for summer time stuff me thinks.

Thanks for the info guys. Pocket pistols are the way to go on extremely hot days

During the gun show, I believe the sign outside the building says that firearms are only allowed on the fairgrounds expressly for the purpose of the gun show. Now I think we can make our own decisions, but the sign did say that.

There is no prohibition advertised, concealed means concealed. I'm getting a PM9 as soon as I can.

I carried my glock 19 in a Blackhawk Serpa holster with double mag pouch and never had any problems, I even talked with a trooper about smoking policy at the state fair and he never said one word about me carrying. hope this helps

I had no issues carrying into the fair either.  Only place I could see being a problem would be the grandstand.

Carried there yesterday ... Both my P226 elite and my Keltec .380... No issues, but again concealed is concealed.

I usually carry when I go, but I veer towards carrying something compact more than I normally do.

I saw a trooper yelling at a guy yesterday at the fair near that Baseball dunking tank with the harassing clown, for having a weapon on him, the trooper was angry and said that he can't have it on the Fair Grounds property, but he didn't do anything about just told him not to bring it next time. My 2 cents

If it really wasn't allowed he would of done something about the guy.  Sounds like he just had a fit haha.    Oh and Sig239 for me while we are at it

Allowed or not the Trooper gave the guy a break if his firearm wasn't properly concealed.

It was extremely windy the day that we went, so perhaps the wind contributed to the poor guys wardrobe malfunction.

I had no issues carrying my Kahr MK9. Thanks for all the responses, guys.

eta: Found no signs of prohibition online or on site.

Sorry Ken, I don't mean to be a dick and seeing as we are friends, I trust you won't take this the wrong way... but you had a RULE?  Can you clarify?  Was that a codified regulation under the law or just what the purple decided they were going to ummmmm enforce?

Those with weapons on the midway were asked to leave the midway. Decent people were requested, the others were escorted, some were removed. Nobody's gun was confiscated just requested that it not be where we already had our hands ful. Too many drunks and general malcontents there for a weapon of any sort to be observed. I worked 5pm - 1am and the number of fights and stabbings would surprise you. Generally the demographic here would not be caught dead in that situation, it really does get uncomfortable after dark there.

Either I'm really missing something here or you have a serious problem with people walking around who don't know how to conceal a handgun. What's really puzzling is you seem to be indicating that licensed gun owner's or OD cops were giving you a hard time.

The midway is that long walk way with all the rides and games where you can win prizes.  That there is the midway my friend.

The dunk tank clown is back?  Back in the day Bobo the dunk tank clown needed a trooper escort to get off the Midway at closing time-he really had a talent of  being able to piss people off.

Its been super-hot at the NYS Fair all week . Pretty tough to conceal anything bigger than a Colt 25 or an LCP when you're down to shorts and a tee.
I opted to not carry this year when I went.
I imagine that part of the issue on the Midway would be people losing their guns on the 'coasters or other dynamic rides.

A couple drunk ones who were outed by rides were troublesome, but the "walking sticks" and sheath knives kept us busiest. Think about it,concealed means concealed, if we can see it and ask a person to leave the midway then their concealment methods need tweaking.

Gotcha, just the usual bunch of dopey assholes that come out of the woodwork at fairs.

Laugh, poo-poo, and berate all you want but don't think for a moment that this is any less dangerous:

If you ever shoot anyone with that and they find out about it, they are gonna be PISSED!

I kid, I kid.

Funny how pocket guns were all the rage back in the early to mid 20th Century and history is now repeating itself with the P3AT, LCP, etc.
