I was planning on going with a couple of friends. Bear3351 you still have the Jeep Grand Cherokee and you guys go down to the right? I drive a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'll look out for you guys since I have never met anyone but Green18.

Edit: Ask Wave if he will be bring the NYPD Doge Charger! I saw his pic in another post. Great looking police car.

I'm there assuming I'm not too hung over from the night before...
Link Posted: 4/7/2006 5:22:06 PM EDT
you guys going to the public range at Calverton ? or the private range?

I read on here someone said the public range is a dump
no running water, etc.

I was thinking of going to Brookhaven range
I went there for the first time last weekend
plan to go again this sunday

This ONE off of exit 72 on the LIE. It is kind of like the wild west. The Brookhaven range on Rt 25 in Ridge is much nicer but stricter.

What time in the AM? And is it crowded, I haven't been to Calverton in over two years.

Would like to go but last weeks flying event was cancelled due to high winds so the nephew is taking me up today but its raining so it looks like we're going up tomorrow morning and we'll have to settle for dropping some Krispy Kreme cluster bombs on you guys down in the pit..........

stricter how?
when i was at the Brookhaven range, they didn't have a problem with me shooting the AR

On a visit to check it out last month, Brookhaven told me:

No rapid fire.
Rifles fired only from a bench.
Only one bullseye target on a board at a time.
I believe they may have some sort of a # rounds in a mag restriction too.

Not being allowed to fire offhand and only one bullseye (meaning you have
to wait for everyone to get a new target without the black blown out) convinced me
the joint wasn't for me. I can go without the running water and electric.

i will be there testing out my newly built rig, and with my friend. I just have to get his stuck round out of the chamber.

It's actually exit 71 isn't it?

Yeah, I love Calverton. Went to Huntington once and never went back.

0612Devil you are right. I was going from memory -which is a dangerous thing with my taxed brain cells- it is Exit 71 South of the LIE. I just cleaned out the South Setauket Wally World of their WWB 55g.

Wave, that is the pic from the other post. That is a sick police car beats the Impalas any day. Is that for the highway guys or are the precincts going to get those? And the big question [red neck accent]Does it go a Hemi in it! [/red neck accent]

Bring your waders just in case. It will probably be a swamp when you get there.

I was your RO last week.

I assume you were one of the guys checking out the Drangunov right before you left? (last week)
I left just after you got there today. Wasn't working, but shooting my .45-90 Rolling Block and 300 Whisper Contender.

As a side not... I see people complain about one (or two) target(s) per board at Brookhaven... and complain about the shot up/lack of target frames in Calverton. Do they fail to see the correlation?
Link Posted: 4/9/2006 6:42:53 PM EDT
yes, that was me

everyone is on this forum Brookhaven range *thumbs up*
