Hey Gents,

I'm moving to Sullivan county and want to get my Pistol permit. Anyone know what this entails? Also, does anyone know where I have to go to apply for one? I googled it but could not find the answer.

Thanks,

Riese

Riese, will you be considered "retired" when you leave your LEO job? If so, that puts you in a better status vis-a-vis getting a carry permit.

You don't have to sell the LE carbines, you can make them AWB compliant for a few $$. Pin the stock, add a muzzle brake, and cut the bayo lug. Try ADCO in the Industry Section, they've done a bunch of uppers for me, work is fast and looks factory.

You might have to wait 6 months before applying for your permit as most counties have that as a residency requirement.

Call the Sullivan County Clerks office. I believe they issue unrestricted permits in Sullivan County.

I was told to go to the clerk's office in Monticello. I don't remember the exact address. Haven't gotten around to filling it in myself yet.

You need 4 references in Sullivan county, one per household, and none from the Sherrif's department.

Sucks for me since I know most people up there through my parents, since I'm usually in the city during the week attending class. Feel weird asking people I barely know to be my reference, and don't want to scare my neighbors. Oh well, a few more months til school is over.

Good luck
