Me and Roger went out for a few hours today for some fluke fishing. Caught probably 15-18 fish but only 1 was a keeper and it barely made it. Only other close one was 16 3/4" just shy 1/4" of the limit. These fish were rather skinny also as they havent had time to fatten up on killies yet.
Hopefully the season will pick up a bit as the weather warms. Water temp was averaging about 58 degrees so hopefully when we get to tyhe mid 60s they will be more active

I've been following the birds for cocktails and an occasional weak for just that reason, out of about 10 fluke so far, just one keeper so far. In 2001 I caught 250 fluke and but 4 keepers. After that, I just went for weaks and cocktails last year. If I had the bucks, I'd get a bigger boat and fish outside...nahhhhh.

My brother recently caught a bluefish off Bay park. I will fish there maybe in a couple of weeks for fluke and crabs.
