Obsolescent for defensive purposes or obsolescent for fun?

That's an important distinction.

An 8 shot .357 may be worth its weight in gold if some things go sideways in the next four years as may single stack autos.

Know what the malfunction drill is when your revolver fails to fire?  Pull the trigger again.........think about that one.  Backbencher I should have showed you the Smith 1937 that had been customized by a police armored in the early 50s.

Not going to make it back Sunday.  Need to get sleep!  Will get off at 7am.  Might make it to mesquite ne t weekend though.

Canton was a decent little show. Mojo, ilikelegs, TRG, and I met Rebel Yell.
Found some cb short ammo and sold 300 rds of 8 mm.

Next week is mesquite, so I'll probably hit that one too.

Be prepared to wait over an hour.

The only time you won't wait there anymore is 4pm Mon-Thur, which is a shame because I love them

I'm thinking of bringing some 9mm ammo and maybe a S&W 5903.

I also have a worn s&w 422 6" and 38 2" but I doubt there is much demand for those right now.

I wouldn't be getting a table, just walking around.  Maybe wearing it around my neck

I'd like to get down to Mesquite on Sunday, may bring along a Sub 2k I'm trying to sell. I'm always a little reluctant to try selling a gun at these shows, with all the low-ballers. I'm not desperate to move it so we'll see.

All I know is my entire family has left for the weekend and I hate to waste an opportunity to break free for a whole day!

Come on down!  Dealers will low ball b/c they have to make a profit.  Best way to get a good price is to get a table.

Good show today.  Jeffb1911 will likely not be back tomorrow as he has some personal business to attend to.  That leaves us w/ an extra wrist band if anyone would like to bring some things down to sell.

We're far enough in the show that I'm likely cutting ammo prices tomorrow to move product so I don't have to schlep it home.

Not an awful show from my perspective - just covered the table, thanks to jeffb1911, & sold the middle girl's 20 ga Shockwave for her for $440, moving forward the day when she will move out (hooray!).  Haven't sold a drop of ammo, got rid of some P90 mags left over from my Lyndon AR57 project, and BIgDAM's AR pistol & upper are just sitting here.

Managed to break my 870 I was going to sell hard by buggering up the threads on the pump, and sure as hell everyone is out of stock.  jeffb1911 put me in a Speedfeed stock for it, which made it salable, and I proceeded to destroy the forend threads in order to get a $5 90's plastic vertical grip on it.

A welcome change from the DACA shows of the recent past.  Every table was full.

The side hall holds most of the line when it gets backed up, so if it's raining, you won't get rained on for long.  BIgDAM got there 30 minutes ahead of me & had to stand in line, when I got there I went right in.

9x19mm is as low as $.80/rnd, M855 is $1/shot.

The top level of the parking garage is open, so plenty of parking, even if you have a tall RV.  When I got there, it was so busy there was a line for the men's room.

Seems like traffic for the dealers died when it started raining.

AR bits are coming down to reasonable prices.  Saw a pre-Model 10 S&W for $350, most of the bluing was gone.  Saw a parked S&W 41 for $750.

The Whipp Farm shows are always small, but there's generally everything you could need there.  Just depends on whether you want to pay what they're asking.

We will be at the Allen, TX show this weekend. Never been to this show but it looks to be a great show. It is a sold out show so we were lucky to get tables.
Be sure and look for the bunny and come say "Hi!"

The wife will be working the tables by herself for a while tomorrow. The water pump went out in the truck as we pulled into the venue, so I get to have the fun of replacing it in the parking lot tomorrow.

Pro tip...they only allow guns in the interior rink section, so most everything worthwhile is inside the rink...there are usually a few good tables in the outside ring, but a lot of worthless stuff, so save the outside ring for last...

The Allen show looked to be well attended.  You have to walk all the way around the outside concourse (and thus see all the non-gun vendors - mags, ammo, candles) before you get into the stadium floor where almost all the guns are.  More mags, more ammo, no candles.  It's just an odd setup.  It seems to work, Premier has been holding shows there for years now.  After I left, I scored 2 boxes of 9x19mm FMJ @ Cabela's for $15/50 rnds, and the Bullet Trap is just down Hwy 5.

5.56x45mm I've seen lately is $1/shot.

9x19mm goes as high as that, but bought 1k of steel case Tula for $.50/rnd from a fellow dealer.
