Sorry about not being able to handle BBQ very well.....after loosing my gallbladder several years ago, after good greasy properly made BBQ i wind up emitting biological weapons........
Seriously, will be good to see everyone. When i was setting up for the Tyler gunshow today, someone said they saw the Tyler Fire guys removing fire safety stuff from Harvey Hall-some of the built in hoses and stuff they said. The building attendants i talked to said they have already moved most of the office stuff out of the building, and things are starting to get stripped in preparation for demolition. We are going from a show of over 600 tables to about 225 tables, and the first show in about 18 months or so. Even though it is a different company, i hope it goes very well tomorrow. It's about 0120 now, about to get to bed finally. Been getting all the gear ready to take it there in the morning. |

Those were some narrow aisles today in Tyler. Smaller show of course, but still lots of old and new. Lots of ammo if you want to pay their price. One dealer wanted $2300 for his Deagle. Said it’ll be $2600 at Big Town next week.

Has there been any discussion of a replacement in Dallas for Market Hall or is Dallas a done deal? I'm sure the owners of the Hall have been getting huge pressure from the city to shut these shows down. However, they brought this on themselves by not controlling the security of the parking lots.
It's hard to believe a city the size of Dallas doesn't have a venue that will allow gun shows. |

View Quote Other than Mesquite Big Town & Tulsa, I've not seen any other shows, from Tyler to Cleburne concerned about the behavior of their punters in the parking lots. Dallas brought this on itself by allowing their school district to go to shit and not adequately policing their youth. It's not Premier's fault. DACA was looking for an alternate venue a few years ago & came up w/ Southfork. Big Town is finally going away; unless there's an empty warehouse standing around somewhere that Amazon hasn't snatched up, w/ a lot of parking, there's just not a lot of venues that large. There's the Dallas Convention Center, which won't allow ammo sales - probably a good third of vendors @ the moment are ammo dealers. |

Yep, a bummer that Market Hall went away. And now, with Big Town about to bite the dust, the only other good "Dallas area" show (IMO) is the one at Southfork, in Parker. Good show, but small, of course. DACA/Southfork's remaining published dates for this year, from gunshowtrader.com, are Aug 7th – 8th, and Oct 23rd – 24th. (The dallasarms.com site is apparently being remodeled since it doesn't come up when I checked it a few minutes ago.)

Works for me. Are you our AR parts guy @ all the shows?
I think Waxahachie is a better show than DACA. Premier is going back to the Mesquite Rodeo, Allen is still going, and they have the occasional Texas Motor Speedway show, albeit those are best outside summertime. I don't think they'll do the North Richland Hills ice rink show again. Still, that leaves Premier w/ 5 regular shows in the D/FW area, with plenty more small shows from East Texas, to the Oklahoma border, to Abilene. |

Wish I was. On the show situation---no intent to rag on any of the shows, but how I see the locations as good (or not) depends on whether the drive is easy (or not), decent parking, and how many car burglaries there have been lately. That takes a few off my list, usually lousy parking. Or a 100+ mile round trip. |

That depends on where you live & how bad you're addicted to gun shows - I drove more than 2 hours to Tyler Saturday. FW Will Rogers has good parking, but it's $10. Big Town had some car burglaries a few years back, but then Premier started putting up the cop tower during the show, and I just park as close as I can to that. I do the same in the FW garage - park as close as I can to the ticket takers. Mesquite Rodeo should be good for parking, even if they develop the giant field out front - there's plenty of parking on the N & W sides of the complex. Waxahachie has good parking, it just sucks that Hwy 187 is under construction and I always forget to go all the way over to I-35E. Allen has that garage there, and the Speedway show has, uh, unlimited parking. DACA has enough parking, it's just a pain in the ass to get there, to see a smallish medium show. |

Even if it's not the same gunshow vendor. We have that situation some of the time in Fort Worth, albeit Lone Star's a smaller show. But w/ two big anchor shows in the Metroplex @ opposite ends to each other, the big shows could alternate every two weeks, with the smaller shows sitting up on the opposite side that weekend. Particularly w/ Constitutional Carry hitting 1 Sept, demand for guns will increase, while LTC enrollment will decrease, making the NICS situation worse. |

From the Startlegram:
A person accidentally fired a weapon at a gun show on Saturday in Fort Worth, and the projectile ricocheted and struck a woman’s foot, authorities said. The woman was shot indoors about 4:45 p.m. at the Will Rogers complex in the 3400 block of West Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth police said. She was taken to a hospital with an injury that police said was not life-threatening. A police spokesman said that he was not certain what type of gun was involved, and said it was not clear whether the person who was handling the weapon stayed at the scene. View Quote |

Given that w/ Endomags, the ejector is a part of the magazine, I can believe it. This has been a thing w/ AR-9s going back to the removable magwell adapter days.
If the ejector can be removed from the gun, some idiot will remove it. I don't believe the dealer actually got hold of PSA customer service on a Saturday evening after 5 PM CDST, nor was the gun defective. The dealer didn't know how to correctly operate the gun he was selling. |

Well, isn't this a fine kettle of fish.

I had a table at the back right hand side of the hall, or the north east corner this past weekend. I left before the ND. As I was driving out of gate 42, three Ft Worth pd squad cars nearly ran me over getting to the scene. That shitshow went down too damn close to my table. Glad I left early. Guy at the table next to me said it was loud and he could smell the gun powder.

It was loud.
All conversation abruptly ceased. Shoot me an IM w/ what shows you're gonna have a table @, and I'll post it in the OP. You gonna be @ the upcoming Lone Star FW show? |

I will be out there as I’ve got to drop off some ammo to a vendor that got a wildcat cartridge rifle from me last weekend. If I get a table I’ll IM you. If nothing else I’d like to meet up with you guys after at whatever restaurant and have a beer or 2. |

View Quote RebleYell told me it was my turn to pick, so of course we're going to Railhead for the Lone Star show. If you're going to the Allen show, or will be in the area, ping Lug1 about his night of Wonder - it's going to be an ARFCOM Night of Meat... |

Rgr that. Look forward to it.

Added September to the OP, found a few new promoters I'd never heard of before. If y'all hear about an upcoming gun show that isn't listed, a show is cancelled, or the dates change, please drop me an IM and I'll update the OP as soon as I can.
