I'm selling a motorcycle and debating on whether to get a 50.  From a practical standpoint, are there any places in/around Houston that allows 50bmg?

Thanks!

So does ASC.

if you're nuts, Pasadena Gun Range will let you shoot it inside.
The thought scares the hell out of me though.  Hearing damage is not your friend.

+1, I have personally confirmed with the owner of Hot Wells that 50BMG is good-to-go.  They will put you at the far right of the rifle line where there is no roof, to prevent busting the overhead lights.

He he...  50bmg seems to doable.  I just gotta keep the wife from getting wind of the new found $$ before I can buy one.

Thanks!

Right, Hot Wells is a yes, but they only have a 100 yard maximum range.  ASC is better, because you can shoot up to 600 yards ... (once you qualify I believe it is on the 300 yard line).

I am 5 miles from Hot Wells, and recently picked up a Barrett M99, though I have yet to pull the cash for the Zeiss scope I want on it.. so the 50 still sits unfired in the safe...  We should at some point, try to put together a little local 50 group here in Houston.

Cool.  I just went to Hot Wells for the first time.  I like the layout and the way they run the range.  Longer ranges would be nice, although at this point 100 is fine for me.  It felt very informal which I also liked.

You know, I went to Wally World to look at ammo prices to see whether 50 bmg made sense.  Well, compared to 300 winmag, and others, it's not cost proibitive.  Good to know...

Anyway, I got a buyer for my bike, but I still have some work to do to it before I can cash it out.

I prefer to shoot 50 BMG at one of the local bank's drive thru windows.

Yeah ASC is .50 friendly, but they will not let you shoot it under cover due to the lights, so 300 yards and up only.  Who would want to shoot it at 100-200 yards anyhow?
