I picked up his business card at a show a couple months back. Has anybody used him to refinish their guns or have any 1911 work done by him? Is there anyone else in N.DFW that can refinish a 1911 with something like KG Gun-Kote? I don't need anything fancy, I just want a uniform black finish.

I know of Robbie can because he did the work on my 1911 and I'm totally satisfied. I was just seeing if there was anyone else out there.

Here is what she looks like right now:

Although it may seem like the bluing isn't so bad, the picture is sort of misleading. The top of the slide has no bluing, the front strap doesnt and other parts that get touched alot lack a finish.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Do it yourself.

Order one of the spray and bake finishes in a can from brownells.

Easy enough to do.

I'd rather not.

I've put a lot of money into this gun to make sure it was done right. I'm not gonna risk screwing up the finish.

Here is the finished product. I got the teflon finish done in black. I also had the frame trimmed a bit under the trigger guard to get a better grip on it. Pete does awesome work. I got the gun back in a week and his prices were very reasonable. I would not hesitate to do business with him again.

Hope you all like it.

I will take better pictures tomorrow or whenever I get unlazy.

The full story behind my 1911.

Hah, I spent a good deal of money on this pistol project. I got the gun in a trade and I've probably invested 700 or so into it?

The refinish itself was just 150 even.

I think I've seen him set up at most of the gun shows. Seems like an OK guy.
