Ok so its not totally free but for $3 Bux you cant beat this with a stick.

Well if you've been considering a glock this is your chance to try one before you buy one.
Guns, Ammo, and Mags will all be provided for a measily 3 dollar a head fee (to cover ammo hopefully)

From the official newsletter of the East Texas Rifle & Pistol Club:

Glock Day at the range:

March 5, 2006 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm the Glock representative will be at the range with smaples of all the Glock pistols. you are welcome to come out and shoot all of the different models. There will be a $3.00 entry fee (to offset the cost of ammo) that entitles you to shoot as many guns as you wish, as many times as you wish. Factory trained glock armorers will be on hand to fix and adjust any problems you may be having with your Glock pistol. This event is courtesy of The Gun Doctor and Glock Perfection.

Directions as follows:

The range is located just off I-20 on FM 2011 (exit 591).
Our physical address is 1045 FM 2011.
Get off I-20 at the FM 2011 exit (about 2 miles east of the Longview exit),
go straight after the stop sign almost exactly 1 mile. About 100 yards past a bridge,
there's a driveway/road on the left (right before a big new drilling rig on the right)
with a sign reading "East Texas Rifle & Pistol Club

For those who haven't been, ETRPC is a very nice range.....check it out.

If you go on weekday afternoons, its almost totally deserted as well.
I enjoy shooting alone sometimes.

Anyone know the cost of yearly membership?

Membership pricing should be on the website, but offhand, I think first year is 75, then 50 after that........

I think cnemikeman is right -- plus you have to be an NRA member.  Keep in mind that your membership covers everything.  Once you are a member you come and go as you please with no additional range fees, and can bring guests with you at no cost.  They are a non-profit organization, so any profit they generate goes back into improving the facility or one of their programs.

We went to Glock day last year so Mrs. Smallchange could try out a few different models.  She really liked the 23, but after talking to Doug (the range safety officer) and his wife about reliability issues she'd had with the 40, we settled on the 19.  We bought one on the spot, for roughly a gun-show price.

Meeting Doug and his wife made Mrs. Smallchange comfortable enough to take a defensive pistol course from them a month or two later (I think cnemikeman and his better half were there as well), and shortly thereafter she got her CHL from an instructor Doug introduced her too at the Glock event.

I now rest easier knowing that when my wife and kids are out and about without me, there is a line of defense that wasn't there before.  If I hadn't taken her to ETRPC that day, I don't think any of that would have happened.

Here is info off website:

Membership in the NRA (National Rifle Association)
is required for membership, and may be purchased thru the club.
Annual dues are $50.00, from April 1 thru March 31 and are not pro-rated.
Please have your NRA membership information available.
New members have a one time $25 initiation fee.

Hope that helps.
