Who'd have thought that you would be the first to respond to my post?!  1GR was in rare form that night...but you putting the skunk in the suitcase was a good response!

I beg to differ.

This sounds like a lot of fun. Is this by invitation only, or is it open to all safe shooters?

Any requirements? Just guns, ammo, and camping stuff.

Well, New Orleans isn't an ISD.  It's "New Orleans Public Schools."

I did some work on recovering some of their stuff after the 'cane.

ETA:  I plan on being there again.

Literally, the date will be set for us...it will be the weekend of the Cynthia Ann Parker Days in Crowell, Texas.

That celebration simply hasn't been set, yet....Cynthia Ann Parker Festibel

Amazingly, while retrieving that URL address, I ran across a Wikipedia Article on Crowell, Texas

Nice article, eh?

This is the photo that Wikipedia chose to represent Crowell...

Yep, that 'Historic Co-op Elevator' should draw in the tourists by droves!

My company reloed their Data Center after the storm.

Isn't it "New Orleans Parish Schools"?

Not to hijack, but what exactly did that entail?  Was any offense/penal data lost?

It probably is, but all of the correspondence I got in that deal said Public.  My company might have gotten it wrong, though.  I wonder what that would mean to the legal department?

ETA:  COZ, it's quite possible I worked with some of your guys, depending on what phase you were involved in.

EATA:  And if it was your guys, let them know I wasn't intentionally being mean, but they called me while I was drinking beer, and one of my regular team always tells me, don't drink and SA.

That *does* look like something you would see if you blinked and missed the metropolis of downtown though.

Certainly they could have chosen some shots of the town center or something though.

NOPS did not incur rath of any kind. Really just sympathy. We were in the middle of a mult-million dollar rollout of gear to many schools. Lots of Cisco gear went under water.

Now, there is a certain bank in the New Orleans area that was down for 5 days after Katrina.

Whoops.  I didn't read Coz's post closely enough.  I thought he meant that he'd reloaded the Data Centers of both NOLA (which would also include NOPD) and the NOPS.

I googled Cynthia Ann Parker Days.  They have always been held on the first weekend of May in the past.

The first weekend of May, 2006 is on the 6th and 7th.  Just FYI...

Ah, thanks for the clarification, COZ.

One of my "issues" during all the refugee (whoops, I mean "evacuee" ) relocations was that they said no one with a crim record would be relocated.  I wondered how they would know that, if all the data was lost (had my fingers crossed all crim records were electronic and they employed off-site redundancy [LOCKSS]).

Close, it's the Cynthia Ann Parker Days in Crowell, Texas.

I always thought it best to have it the same weekend, but I note from their website that they haven't updated the dates from last year...Cynthia Ann Parker Days

The reason for this was simply to give folks something else to do that weekend...but it's not set in stone that it needs to be the same weekend, at all.

This year I was hoping that the Hun Farm could enter a float in the parade......

Eric The(Wistful)Hun

a float made of beer cans, rifles, shell casings, sounds like fun, when do we start?????

I'll have to start saving some money and see if  DeltaAir423 is interested in coming out again.  Maybe we can get a few more of the GA contigent together for a little trip to a fine event.
