I'm going out to East Texas on Monday and I will finally be able to shoot my AR after having it for 3 months. I'm over in the Wylie (east of plano). I was thinking I read a topic about Bass pro screwing up the price on Wolf ammo. Anyway I just want to go pick up 500 rnds and go let loose with it. But I was lookin on Bass Pro's website and they don't list wolf at all.

ETA: I am looking for cheap, hence the Wolf.

Sportman's warehouse is in Lewisville.  Over in Tarrant county there's cheaper than dirt and Cabelas.

Is the Sportsmans warehouse by the Target? It says it's on Hebron buy they must have put it in since I've moved.

Yes, Sportsman's Warehouse is right next to the Target.

The price mix-up happened at the Fort Worth Cabela's back in October.

Whatever you do, don't get any of that crappy Q3131 crap from Academy...

I did notice at one of their stores that they had some of that Monarch or Silver Bear stuff...  Don't know anything about how it compares to Wolf, but it's cheap.

(BTW, the Academy on the Toll Road was out of the Q3131 when I checked last weekend.  Didn't get a chance to check the Lewisville store.)

It's alot for someone who hasn't been able to afford ammo until now. Anyway, I ended up with 500 rnds of Wolf. The guy at the counter was like you know there ain't many ranges that will let you on with FMJ. I told it was OK I'm going out to a ranch. So I ended up with 25 boxes of Wolf, a few boxes of 12 guage, and a box of 30/30. This week will be the first time I get to shoot my shotgun and AR!!!!!!!

I got the only thing they had a sportsmans warehouse. 55gr steel case FMJ and it
doesn't say whether it's laquer or polymer, so I have no clue. It was about $3 a box.

ETA: Wooo my sister just game me 2 more magazines for the AR!!!! Now I'm up to 3!

Lacquer cases will appear green.  Polymer cases will appear grey.

Have fun and stay safe.

I thought Wolf was going all polymer.  Is the lacquer stuff left-over?  Cheaper than Dirt sells the polymer stuff.  Just bought 1,000 9mm and 500 5.56 there.  Need to stock up a bit for The Greater Southwest Tom Bean's blaze-fest and BBQ!

Iono if it was left over or not. i just went and bought it when I saw it. I would have gone to cheaper than dirt but I don't think I could have made it there before it close. I got off at 5:30 on the friday night before christmas. I think there would have been a crapload of traffic.

Umm, Anyone know if you have to actually be 21 to buy handgun ammo?

I don't think so as you can own a hangun if you are under 21, and buy one if over 18 (person to person).

Did they ask when you went buy it? Just tell them its for a rifle. Or better yet, for a sub machine gun... :D

I don't know, I'm going to get it today. Lol, I'm telling them that if they ask though.
