I'm at a gunshop- the location won't be named

I'm checking out some posties when this dufus comes in with a Mossberg pistol grip shotgun- wnats to sell it.

He gets the price, doens't like it, but sells the weapon.

He was asked why he is selling it.

"It got me in trouble. I was pulled over in Houston and this female cop saw it and asked me what I had one of those for.

I told her it was for people like you.

She arrested me for DWI and aggravated assualt- threatening a police officer. I just want to get rid of it"

For the record, the DA dropped the aggravated assualt charges.

While I love pointing out the inane actions of some of our public servants with guns and licenses to use them, I have to say that this HPD officer, who was female, did the rght thing. Stupidity can be expensive & "You can beat the rap, but you cannot beat the ride".

Heh....

Some people (dumbasses like the guy selling the scattergun) just shouldnt own guns.

If was kind of funny. He didn't find my comment very funny: "You can beat the Rap, but you can't beat the ride"

Is it illegal to carry a pistol grip shotgun in your car? Also, isn't there min length to a rifle or shotgun?

Have to agree he let his mockingbird mouth overload his hummingbird butt.

He should have responded, "For any lawful purpose." and seen what the JBTette would have to say about that.

18 inch barrel is min. legal length of shotgun barrel. Otherwise it's an NFA class weapon.

Don't remember the total shotgun minimum length, but it's something like 23 inches or so?

It should be 26, just like rifles.....

18" for shotguns, 16" for rifles; both must be 26" or better overall length.

How is 27" somehow BETTER than 26"?

Kidding, for the record.

Why is 18" OK, but 17.75" is a felony? That never made sense to me.

I think that's a question for women right? They seem to be concerned about length of things......

Doh! I didn't even see I'd left myself open for that one; must be getting old......

Because, as we all know, anything below 18" makes it a perfect weapon for "assault"; also, any shotgun below that length could not conceivably be used in any "sporting manner".......

It's really simple, and can be boiled down to the following equation:

_________ ________ _________
legislature + judiciary + executive = ||

Similar to how 30 rounds of ammo in a 30-round magazine is infinitely more evil than the same ammo in 3 ten-rounders?

Guv'mint logic. Like guv'mint cheese, only harder to digest.

But they are elected by the people, so the people obviously want it that way.

Don't we?
