Has anyone been able to get a Form 4 signed by a CLEO in Dallas Co recently? I'm looking into getting a suppressor, but all I hear is how hard it is to get the form signed.

He always has been. Unless you're well connected with him or can do him big favors, fat chance of getting past his secretary. The Dallas Co. Sheriff has a policy of not signing Form 4s...and also holding CHL paperwork either till the last minute or longer than the state allows.

I have a CHL and an FFL and still can't get anyone to sign. It's politics, CYA stuff even though whoever signs has absolutely no liability for any of your actions. It is fun to inform the person that their signature will have no bearing whether or not you get the NFA item, since you'll incorporate or form an LLC and not have to bother with the local CLEO.
