This may be just wishful thinking on my part, but I was looking for a patch of woods where I could legally shoot centerfire and and rimfire ammunition at game. I know there is plenty of good hunting land out here in West Tarrant, Parker and Denton counties, but I don't want to tresspass by accident or fire a weapon illegally. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks if you can help,
Chris

There are a few public hunting areas that you can access with a public hunting permit for $48, but only shotguns are allowed. I guess I better find some new friends, or buy my own land.

Yes there are public hunting lands in TX. According to TPWD 97% of TX is private though.

try this link www.tpwd.state.tx.us/wma/ This is the list of wildlife management areas in Texas. List all activities in the WMA's, and tells how to get into one. I have been to some of them, really better than expected. Good luck.... fullclip
