Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Shawnee county laws on homemade range

Just moved into a house outside the city limits with about 5 acres, I'm wanting to build a small range with proper burm and such for safety. Is there any Shawnee county code or law that would prevent me from doing so?

Certain neighborhoods lying outside Topeka have gotten the county commission to outlaw shooting in those areas, but for the most part you should be OK.

Just do your homework, try with the Sheriff Office. They'll know where those neighborhoods are.

I am not sure about laws preventing building one, but I am pretty sure its a law or at least it oughta be, that you need to let me know where it is if you need help breaking it in!
