Simpson Hardware did get in a half-dozen blue label Glocks. Among them: 42, 45, 48, 23, and maybe a 19. None are MOS models.

BubbaShootz and I went over to Columbia today.
Sportsmans Warehouse: No primers, three 1-lb. cans of oddball powder. Lots of horrendously overpriced bulk plated bullets. Some new brass mostly 357 SIG. The same smattering of RCBS reloading equipment as well as some Hornady die sets mostly 223 Rem. and 6.5. Ammo was limited to some hunting calibers incl. shotshells. PSA: The usual mostly nothing. Ammo situation is slightly better still expensive. No glock magazines. Very few handguns. The smell of fear and desperation was palatable. Craig's Firearms: Pandemic policies still in place. No walk-ins. Sign on door says you have to call the store or knock to be allowed in (maybe). We called answering machine full. As I had left my GSSF purchase coupon at home we gave up. Shooter's Choice: Lots of ammo, lots of guns, lots of Glock magazines, lots of AR's and cool toys. Someone let me hold $2400. All kinds of stuff but my needs are few. |
|
As of yesterday Simpsons appears to have sold out of all handgun ammo.
I did notice that a 20rd box of American Eagle 55gr FMJ is now $16 + 1.28 sales tax. Ho Lee Fuk |
|
I was in Sportsman's in Columbia on Sunday. They have shelves full of reloading face diapers as usual.
And plenty of expensive ammo. |
|
|
Simpson Hardware in the doldrums once again. Lots of firearms esp. handguns but with the exception of .22lr ($0.16cpr + tax) they have no common caliber ammo.
Even at $17.28 a box (tax incl.) they sold out of American Eagle .223 |

Academy Harbison Columbia has been getting primers. Apparently, there's a private Facespace page and a morning shipment campout group dedicated to looting it.

I found primers at Sportsman’s in Columbia Tuesday.Only had a single box each of CCI LPP,SPP ($41),and Federal GM SPP. ($48) on the shelf when I got there. Limit one,of course. I grabbed the SPP,and let a guy on the aisle know about the others, and he grabbed the LPP. We talked and wound up splitting our boxes,so we each walked out with 500 of large and small. Another guy grabbed the Federals as we were talking. Picked up a can of powder there last week,AA-2200 for the 458 Socom. I check in at least once a week, and am seeing a little more variety on bullets, occasional powder, but first time I’ve seen primers there in over a year. I’ll post up next time I find anything worth mentioning.

Wow, $48 per k is pretty good, all things considered right now.

Quoted: Wow, $48 per k is pretty good, all things considered right now. View Quote Except when primers hit the shelves they're gone in minutes. Simpson Hardware just put out a shit-ton of ammo this morning: 9mm ($22), With the exception of the Hornady ($13/box + tax limit 5 boxes) none of this stuff is cheap. Purchase limits depend on the type of ammo, how popular it is, and how much of any particular kind is in stock. They still have a lot of CCI .22lr 200 round "milk cartons" for $30+tax if you're fabulously wealthy, desperate, or stupid. They'll even sell you an entire case because it's not moving even after 3 months. They have had no primers for going on 17 months. |

Simpson Hardware has 1K rd cases of WWB 9mm 115gr FMJ for $374.99 + tax limit one. As of Saturday they had 14 cases on the shelf but might have more in the back room.
Including tax the price per round is a hair over $0.40 which for factory ammo right now this is as good as it's probably going to get. Hardly my idea of a "sale" but if you need it they have it. |
|
Severely disappointed in what Simpsons is offering for Black Friday:
SCCY CX-1 9mm pistols reg $239 sale price $219 + tax Mossy Oak 9mm/38/380/357 cleaning kits (Made in China) $6.99 Winchester 223 Remington 1K case on sale for $600 + tax. Tax included that's $0.65 per round. Pass. Some cheap-ass plastic ammo 'cans'. And that's it unless you want to buy camo hunting clothes. |

Welp. Sportsmans isn't going to get brownelled by Bass Pro after all. The FTC blocked it.
The PSA Fern-to-Sportsmans Piney Grove counter humper circle of life may now continue unabated. |

I forgot to mention that Sportsmans Whorehouse also had two Hornady LNL AP presses (standard model) for...
$699.95 each. Also 5-lb boxes of Lyman stainless steel tumbling pins/media for $59.95 + $5 tax WTF You can get 5 lbs. of media from Guntap for $34 shipping is free and they eat the sales tax. |
|
Went to Sportsmans Whorehouse again last night. Nothing. We were back in the car and leaving in 5 minutes.
|
|
As I posted in a separate thread that due to theft Simpson Hardware has placed all rifle and handgun ammo behind the counter. Ammo and primer purchases have to be walked to a cashier by a store employee.

Simpson Hardware in Sumter is now out of stock on all primers.

|
The Hodgdon Annual Reloading publication is finally in stock at Tractor Supply Company in Sumter.
It's in the magazine rack cleverly hidden on the bottom shelf but they're definitely there. Of course they've been available at Walgreens and likely other places here for nearly a month. |
|
Simpson Hardware
Winchester 5.56 Nato "Valor" 62 grain green tip 125-rd box. $91.80 (tax included) That's just under 75 cents per round. From what I see they're not selling much of it. Makes their Winchester 556 55gr FMJ ($648 tax incl.) look cheap by comparison. |
|
Went to Columbia this morning with BubbaShootz.
PSA: nothing Sportsmans Warehouse: nothing. A single pound of .50 BMG powder for $51.99 gathering dust on the shelf. Shooters Choice: staff was busy stocking shelves with newest shipment of ammo. Did not investigate. |
|
Quoted: Shooters Choice: staff was busy stocking shelves with newest shipment of ammo. Did not investigate. View Quote Only to be wiped out 17 to 35 min later when news of said ammo hits Zuckface. You probably saved yourself by not investigating. You'd get trampled like shoppers fleeing Columbiana Center on a Saturday afternoon. I picked up an online order from Shooters one morning when they had a new ammo delivery posted on the socials. FFS. The damn line at store opening. At least it was orderly and not like a Who concert in Cincinnati. I suspect everyone in line had played the new-ammo-stocked-at-Shooters game before. |

Simpson Hardware got in a shipment of powder. Not a lot, and not a wondrous selection but this is what they have as of 10 minutes ago:
Winchester: Auto comp 1 lb. (one left) Ramshot: TAC 1 lb. (three left) Accurate: 1680, No. 7, and No. 9 1-lb. (about six of each) Hodgdon: International Clays, H4350, CFE Pistol 1-lb. H4350 8-lb. (one for $350) IMR: 4350 8-lb. (one for $290) Prices on the 1-lb. cans average $35 each and the CFE Pistol is $37 each Plus SC tax. Prices suck but less than gun shows. Grab 'em while you can I didn't get any info on limits as I'm not buying any. |

I was in Simpson at 9:30 am picked up last 1lb CFE Pistol powder for a new loader. I did leave a 8lb CFE Pistol powder at my age it would last me two life times
|
|
Nowhere locally carries it and it’s never in stock online when I order other HAZMAT. I hate this
Wonder how many new loaders have jumped in recently due to ammo shortages then realize reloading isn’t any easier right now |
|
Good news in Simpson mid day, saw six 1lb CFE Pistol Powder and 1 8lb in stock. I got last one off shelf so I thought yesterday

Palmetto State Armory (Fernandina) bestowed upon me the most serendipitous of surprises: SMALL PISTOL PRIMERS!
Federal standard small pistol primers. $6.99/100 limit 2. Gotta take the small victories when you can. Too bad there were only about ten 100-ct. sleeves on the shelf. |

Simpson Hardware is now stocking a variety of Night Fision tritium night sights for pistols as well as tritium front sights for AR's (exactly which type of AR front sght I don't know).
The price on the pistol sight sets are $93. The AR tritium front sights (includes a front sight tool) are $53. Like other places, lots of ammo except it's expensive. Even on "sale" it doesn't appear to be moving much. |
