The down is just off I25 in NM. But yes, the movie was also one of my favorite groing up, and I still have a copy (on dvd) wish that it was old school VHS for nostalgia sake.. . $1 fine for not rewinding included! |

I absolutely agree that those pictures are too awesome for words... not that any need to be said. Thank God you're not normal sparks or your 3-gun's wouldn't be half as fun.

I've been hiking the boot pack on snow King mountain here and finally am seeing progress. Recovering from a sprain too so I'm glad I'm making it. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s297/bigg089/C63BDFB0-5B60-4ADF-93D0-EADC64CDD264_zpsxkms3kj7.jpg My first hike took 90 minutes. Had terrible technique Second time was 62 minutes Third was 59:45 Didn't time it the fourth but probably around 55 minutes Yesterday I went up without stopping in 48:40! Not bad for a super out of shape guy. I'm thinking that the Powell and Cody folks need to get together some time and do some shooting.

Excellent! Thanks! Went up again this evening. Just shy of 43 minutes. My buddy I hunt with is twice my age and can do it in 36 so I can't be shown up. Good to see some rain clouds. |

Quick trip through northern Wind Rivers: Clear Creek, Bear Basin, Roaring Fork. Light pack, bivy sack, light stove. Squaretop, smoke from Lava Mtn fire. Clear Lake. Not an easy place to get to, even harder to get out of. Cliffs above Clear Lake. Bear Lake, from 11000' ridge above. This is supposed to be a good sheep area. Route into Bear Basin Elk in Roaring Fork. Roaring Fork crossing Roaring Fork canyon 25 miles, about 10 off trail. 8K vertical. |

Nice area. If my memory serves you are looking out at the Toboggan Lakes. Hills to the south used to be good elk hunting. I believe this is a limited quota area now? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

If I'm looking at the map correctly it's area 98, which is open to all for archery from 1-19 of September, and any elk on general from 1-15 of October, and 10/16-11/10 for antler less. We'll be double checking as well be down there a few more times and have speed goat tags in 87 and 90. |

Hare's ears are the bees knees down here on the N. Platte too. Ever want to fish near the Casper area hit me up. Same goes for the rest of you.

Great looking time Hanz!
I've been in JH 9 years and haven't tried fly fishing. However it will be a near top priority for next season. May get into it late season here if possible. Did you keep the fish you caught? |

Did you keep the fish you caught? View Quote Most of them would be fishstick size when cleaned, so no. Not really a fish eater, the only fish I like to eat is breaded fried catfish, and sometimes salmon. Love catching them though. My advice for someone getting into FlyFishing is to get a ok rod and reel to see if you enjoy it, don't spend too much. Then if you do find it an enjoyable type of fishing, go ahead and get a good rod setup. Unless you are getting into saltwater and big fish, a cheap, say $60 or so, reel will suit you fine. The rod in my opinion is the most important item. If I remember right (it's been 25 years), these rods were $400 for the custom rod, and about the same for the Sage rod way back in the early 90s. But I had used a friend's spare rod when we were TDY to Hill AFB for a few months, and got hooked on FlyFishing, so went out and got my own when we got back home to Las Vegas. The High Sierra Rod was my first, and used for the rivers and streams of the West. The Sage was my second bought for the big lakes in the UK. It's a fun way to fish. It's neat to be able to catch any kind of fish by using a little bit of fur, feathers, and floss. |

I finally made the trip out and got my antelope! Shot a real nice one. Missed B&C by a ways, but I'm very proud of this animal. I've been talking about it for years, and finally did it. What a great trip. Plenty warm for sure. I took a good jacket, a pair of cold weather pants and cold weather/ snow boots, but was lucky enought not to need them. I was in walking shoes, lightweight pants, and a T for the whole trip. I really like it out there. Can't wait to get back out for deer and elk some day. http://i63.tinypic.com/eja62u.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/vwzslv.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/ve7iip.jpg View Quote Fantastic looking buck! Glad you had a good hunt and typical antelope weather. |

Fantastic looking buck! Glad you had a good hunt and typical antelope weather. View Quote Thanks! He has some character. It takes a few shots to show off his horns. I thought I'd just look for the heart shape typical looking buck. I found one with heavy mass and good cutters but his length was short because he finished a hair short on top. It was maybe a 70-75. I had him ranged at 240 yards at one point and was close to shooting him. But it was early enough in the day, I passed and found this other buck that was a little better two hours later. I really was splitting hairs on size at that point. There were plenty of good bucks there. More up your ally, I'm doing the euro mount myself. I'm doing the Whitebones Creations boil method. He's on youtube with some great videos. I should have it wrapped up pretty quick. I'll post a pic of me screwing it up later. |

Nice! Man I need to remember to take pics been forgetting....
