We are set to start our 3 gun season in Pocatello at the Oregon Trail Range on Saturday, April 1st.  We will shoot the first Saturday of each month through September.  We generally shoot 4 stages and with range improvements, will be able to shoot out to almost 200 yards now.  Sign in is at 8:30 and the safety briefing is at 9 am.  Cost is $15 for range members, $18 for non members.  Send an email to [email protected] or IM me for more information. New this year for Southern Idaho is a 3 gun series that multiple ranges will be participating in.  Included is Pocatello, Rexburg, Magic Valley (Jerome/Twin Falls), Blackfoot, Idaho Falls and Parma.  For more information on this, go to Facebook and look up southern idaho 3 gun.

Schedule is in place for the 2018 3 Gun events in Pocatello. We will be shooting on the first Saturday of each month through September with our first match being on April 7th . Sign in is at 8:30 and the safety briefing is at 9 am.

For those new to 3 Gun or wanting a little practice before our matches begin, there will be two Intro to 3 Gun events. First is on Thursday, March 29th at 5:30 pm and the second is on March 31st starting at 9 am. Only cost is $3 for non range members. It is a chance to try out 3 gun as well as set what is needed for this sport.

Continuing from last year are handgun events on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the months, starting April 11th.  Generally the 2nd Wednesday event is informal shooting at various steel challenge targets.  4th Wednesday is friendly competition steel challenge type events. Theses are open to people of all skill levels and you can use handguns of any calibers, 22 lr on up. No cost other then $3 for non range members. We start abut 6 pm but people can show up anytime that work for them and stay as long as they want.

On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month is the Women's Defensive Pistol League. This is training conducted by Sam Clarke of Idaho Combat Systems. It is open to women of all skill levels who want to learn handgun shooting skills. Start time is 6 pm.  For more information look up Women's Defensive Pistol League on Facebook for more information.

New this year is 2 Gun / Carbine event. This will be held on the 4th Thursday of the month starting April 26th.  Focus is on handgun and carbine, no shotguns.  Note that any rifle will work but the course of fire will be very friendly to those using pistol caliber carbines, suppressed Blackouts and carbines/rifles with iron or dot sights in that no targets will be past 100 yards and the longer distant targets will be of sufficient size to hit without too much difficulty. No cost for this other then the standard $3 for non range members.  Start time will be about 6 pm but people can show up when it is convenient for them.

There is also a monthly 3 Gun event at the Rexburg Unified Sportsman Club.  These are held on the 2nd Saturday of the month starting April 14th.  They are a lot of fun and make extensive use of natural terrain as well as having rifle targets out to 400 yards. Cost is $15 per match and a $5 fee for non range members.  Additional information is at www.uscidaho.org.
