I was wondering the same thing. Is this fellow going to make any difference? Or is he like our politicions who talk out of both ends until they want an endorsment from the NRA. Then show up on telivision mishandeling firearms and trying to look like one of the boys. Soo are congradulations in order or not? I live on the south edge of lake erie and sometimes get AM 800 from Windsor but I havent tuned in in quite a while so Im not up to date in what is going on in the motherland.

With only a minority government, the Conservatives can not push any agressive roll backs of the firearms legislation. They can very likely have the long gun registry repealed, or starved of cash. We also expect that they will make some policy and procedure changes that will greatly streamline the permit process.

Babysteps now, show the public that it's just common sense. Later on a complete rewrite may be possible, and supported if they can win a majority.

Well, maybe you can't make any victories, but at least you can go without any setbacks. And that is almost as good as a victory. The anti's are always looking to take away one right at a time. If you guys can go 4 years without any anti-gun legislation, that certainly is a positive. Maybe someone up there will realize that gun control is a losing issue.
