The wife and I plan on staying at the Hard Rock for a couple of nights. We want to break away from eating at the casinos. The wife
loves shrimp and being from  south Louisiana we are picky about our seafood. Tell me about the good seafood places in Biloxi. How about
McElroy's "Harbor House" Seafood Restaurant?

The reef
Shaggys
Mikey's on the bayou
Mcelroys

In Gulfport-half shell oyster house (a personal favorite)

The ole cuevas bistro in waveland is pretty good. Bit of a drive west from Biloxi but good nonetheless.

Also a place in pass Christian called Hook. A good friend of mine is the manager there. He runs a good show and has great food

You will be about 500 yards from my office.  I am NOT a McElroys fan.  Shaggy's is good "touristy" seafood here on the beach, as is The Reef.  Capt. Al's off I10 is where a lot of the locals go to eat no-frills seafood/steak now, most of our little local seafood joints are gone after Katrina.  Mahoney's is good "old style" Gulf Coast/NOLA seafood, but expensive.  The Half Shell in Biloxi is also good, but crowded.  I would drive over to the Bay and eat a Trapanis if I had time to burn and wanted really damn good seafood.  I hope that helps.

Pretty good list here.  I have not tried Mikey's or Mcelroys but the others are places I have eaten multiple times.

I prefer North Beach or The Blind Tiger over Trapani's.

Everyone's opinons may vary, but I will NOT go to The Blind Tiger in Biloxi again.

I've only ever been to the one in the Bay.

Blind tiger has an interesting business model in that it does not have a freezer.  They only serve fresh foods and do run out sometimes.  It's a small menu.

We honestly don't have any good seafood places up here.  Unless you buy from Paradise Seafood and cook it at home, you're pretty much SOL.

I'm coming down from 1-7 August.  I'm going to check out some of these places I haven't tried yet.
Thanks for the list.

I'd see if you wanted to grab a meal but I'm gone this week.

The Half Shell in Biloxi a few blocks of of Beach Blvd.  I eat there a couple times a year and the one in Hattiesburg the rest of the year. Royal Reds are to die for, if you like shrimp and lobster.

OCB has been closed for some time.  Good riddance also.

My wife and I were investors/part owners and got screwed out of about 60K.

The owner is a loon and has declared bankruptcy which will likely be dismissed because she hasn't been making the payments that are in her settlement.

Her lawyer won't even talk to her due to her boyfriend always yelling at the attorney.

Owners of Pirates Cove are friends and are great people.

Da Kitchen has another location also.  BlackFootBlaster and I have had lunch there in the past.

I knew of financial troubles they were having, made me think the whole fire incident wasn't so much an accident but more so a way out. But I heard they were going to build a new place across the bay. Guess that didn't happen?
Sorry for your troubles. If the woman was smart she would be on the up and up but can't help everybody

The fire at the Pass location was ruled an accident by the Fire Marshall.  Electrical short in the cooler IIRC.

OCB reopened in the Bay almost a year later.  The second location was only open for about 8 months before the owner closed the doors for good.

Thanks for your concern.
