Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Police destroying firearms?

Just saw a news story that the Laconia PD are destroying firearms from the evidence locker.  I thought this was illegal under NH law but can't find the RSA.  Any help?

This is all I could find. Seems that it only applies to state agencies (not municipalities) and voluntarily surrendered firearms, as opposed to those seized in criminal proceedings.
