This info also appeared in ProJournal.  The Progressives have admitted that this is an attempt to take over the RI Dem party and move it FAR left.  It is VITAL that you go to the Polls on Primary day and support the candidates that best reflect your wishes.  In some cases, this might include voting for Democrat candidates.

In RI, the Primary IS the Election, especially for Democrats and people, again often Democrats, who are running unopposed in the General election.

This is the reason to be listed as Unaffiliated/Independent, as opposed to declaring membership in a particular Party.

DON'T LET THESE EXTREMELY LIBERAL CANDIDATES KNOCK OUT DEMS WHO HAVE EXCELLENT NRA RATINGS!

We took a hit, no doubt about it.  Lost an important skirmish, but not a battle, and definitely not the war.   Time to organize better and make sure that the proRKBA legislators, and particularly the pro-RKBA LEADERSHIP in both Chambers know that we are watching them, and for them to not get wobbly.

Start emailing and writing folks.  Right away, while they're still thinking about what went on, and before they start to think going soft on RKBA is a politically viable alternative.

Your stated support right now of your pro-RKBA legislators means a HUGE amount.

Please, start writing, e-mailing, and calling NOW.

Oh, and BTW, if your State Senator/Rep is not "A" rated with the NRA, make sure to tell them, politely but in no uncertain terms, that you have been a loyal supporter in the past, but their vote for an antiRKBA arms bill will END your support.  If your Sen/Rep has a "C" or less, then make SURE to tell them that you don't support their stance, and ask them to reconsider.  

How you actually vote is up to you, and I advise looking at NRA ratings in considering your vote.

Let's get moving folks.  Let's get up, dust ourselves off, and get to work.  This setback can work in our favor if it energizes the pro-RKBA crowd.  Don't forget that there's a big bunch of us.

Right to Keep and Bear Arms.  RKBA.

It's in the US Constitution (2A, Second Amendment), and in the RI Constitution, Section 22, to wit:

"The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."  PERIOD.  Direct quote. None of the Militia business that the Antis use to confuse the original meaning of the US Constitution 2A.

DiSimone (Providence) was House Majority Leader.  Also Malik from Warren.  Both well-rated by NRA and reliable votes.  It's not so much that the towns took a hit, but that the whole State loses by having perhaps two fewer, or at least two weaker pro-RKBA votes in the House.  

Middletown Dem Linda Finn won her primary, and is a former Rep.  She's a charter member of the largest RI anti-gun group, and has introduced AWB bills--and others-- in the past.  I have reason to believe that her anti-RKBA group receives significant funding from out of state.  Likely from some organization/foundation that is connected to George Soros.
