My daughter is a proud student at University of Maine Farmington.
The Verizon service is good but the bill  is too high for us so we are seeking alternitives.

Any of you folks know what carriers have good reception in Farmington.
I tried looking for reviews on line and they all seem to be out of date.

Thank You.

Wild ass guess, but us cellular probably. Maybe walmarts straighttalk or whatever its called.

Kind of mountainous region, it might be spotty with any carrier.

make sure you get the right phone, they have ones on all different networks, Verizon one with a red map works, or if she owns her current Verizon phone its a direct port.

US Cellular is the only service that works at my house.  We had Verizon when we moved up here but Rome is a dead zone.

We're about 15 miles from Farmington. Might be different there.

About reception in Rome.
For years we stayed at Bear Springs Camps on Great pond.
Without going up the hill my wifes iphone could not get a signal.
However
My crappy Trac Phone worked well down by the lake.
Weird
