No, because they will only give me $120 for my legally owned .25 Raven.  Maybe I should engrave "assault" on the side of it for an extra $80.  
It's suppose to be 'no questions asked' but it's only open to NJ residents.  That seems like a question to me.

With that said, the only way I'd go to one of these things is if I could buy the guns before the sellers made it to the buy back.

I used to be on a boat that sunk regularly but after a few months we'd resurface and head back to port with no losses. Again, my deepest sympathy.

Don't know when the last state/fed buybacks were but various counties with the state AG have had several buy backs.
Here are some from a few years back in my county:

I went to one in old bridge and turned in junk not worth $1. No limit on anything, ended up walking out with a $1000. I then turned that $1000 into 3,800 rounds of ammo that week at the gun show. Funny because as i was walking in, a trooper smiled and said "Nice shirt" as he glanced at my FNH USA Tshirt that i was wearing.

Shit that made me laugh was this so called "expert" that was checking the guns over trying to tell me that a barreled receiver was incapable of firing without the stock. Literally had the bolt, trigger and everything. He gave me the money after he realized he was wrong.

They also had a big pile junk guns separate from the carefully spread out NICE guns. Imagine that

FYI this was probably about 4-5 years ago.

I've been staying at my sister-in-laws and they watch the news 24/7 and heard a bit in the gun buyback. They were awfully proud of their so called "assault rifle "haul.
