I lived in Alamogordo and bought a truck in El Paso Texas. I didn't register it in NM (military) but I did get a temp tag for it just after purchasing it while in Texas. I am sure the process would have just been go to the local DMV and let them register it in NM.

It's not a big deal.
If you finance and buy from a dealership they should send your application for title to the MVD office of your choice. 30-45 days later the MVD office will contact you and let you know that your plates are ready. If you pay cash, you will just need to take the vehicle to the MVD and most likely have to have a vin inspection. No matter how you buy it, it's not a big deal. |
