so long story short a buddy of mine had his handgun stolen out of his pickup center console, and he dose not have a CCW. Is there any legal repercussions he could face if he told the cop it was stored in his center console for 10 days? and now it is missing. yes i told him how stupid it was to store his handgun in his pickup and not check to make sure it was locked or the very least check to make sure its there every day let alone have a 10day time frame of when it could have been stolen. but he is new to this whole handgun thing and made a dumb mistake. also i will be posting his SN in a new thread whenever he sends it to me. for now keep an eye out for a S&W M&P Shield 9mm possibly with blue letters filled in on the slide. thanks in advance

I doubt it.  I had a revolver stored behind the seat stolen out of a pickup I had parked on a city street about 30 years ago.  But IANAL
