Have you ever herd a story where Looking Glass was going to crash land on 73/75 as Offutt's runway was closed for repair & a Flight Chief was sent out to stop Northbound traffic & the stupid Flight Chief actually went out the SAC gate & blocked off Northbound traffic getting ready for Glass to land on the highway

If you have, it's a true story, I'm the goober that was working in CSC who dispatched the Flight Chief

Or how about the time Security 5 (security patrol for the Bldg D side of the base) was ambushed while patroling the permiter fence & was gettig shot at

haven't heard either of those.

but we did have a nice one where one of the tower personnel apparently cleared one of the RC's to take off from the northwest end of the line while another plane was approaching for a landing from the southeast end.  smashed up one of the outboard engines on the RC that was taking off....brand spankin new pilot too.

needless to say, someone's in a bit of hot water.

Guess all the good "stories" get lost with time

The Armory/CSC back in the day were right next to the fire department in a hanger on the flightline not all that far from the active runway.

After a swing shift we had a tailgater kegger (keg was on ice in the parking lot while we were working) and we procedded to get ripping drunk.

Anywhoo, somebody started peeing on the runway & sooner or later everybody was running out on the active to pee

Glass was late in landing (remember this was when it flew 24/7) and the Flight Chief (MSgt) was pissing on the runway when it ended up on final & they called in reporting that somebody was on the active

We ended up moving the party over to the dorm for the rest of the night

Or the time the flight (B) had a massive kegger in the dorm & one girl on flight took on both LE and Security flights. The pool table was never the same

I was walking into CATM with 2 12 packs of Beer on a Friday when they had the 1st AD of the then brand spanking new 9mm Beretta. CINSAC ended up going down there to see what happened as nobody wanted the 9mm as it wsa "unsafe" compared to the old .38's

Ahhh the stories I could tell

That's going to hurt

We had a civilian aircrat run out of fuel once and land on the runway, they rolled to a stop out back of the E4B hanger (with a E4 in the hanger) & needless to say there were a tad spooked when we drove up in a PK with the 60 locked and loaded

One last quickie

We had a going away kegger out at the base lake for a shit hot LT.

He was ripped & about 1/2 way into the party he vanished.

Next day the day shift LE patrol found him washed up on the far back side of the base lake passed out and hyperthermic.  Never did figure out how he got there as he had no recolection, guess he was just so drunk he wanted to go for a swim
