You guys should come down to MiniFest in Lisbon Ohio. See Campy's post tacked at the top of the page. It's on the 20,21 and possibly the 22.

Add me to that roll call, I'll be there!

Welcome aboard gl22man!

[#14]
every1 who wants to come is welcome, im sure there will be people splitting in the mid afternoon, as the woodward dreamcruise is the same day.      for those of you who are coming out, is there still interest in the cqm stages (of course depending on pit usage by strangers) or should i put those cack in the can for awhile, the only reason i ask is cause if yall wanna do it, i`ll need to build up an according number of target stands, or if any one wants to be helpfull they can bring (or build their own)

also, as long as we are planning this, whats a good time to meet there in the morning?

im really looking forward to this, lol, i pretty much have built my leave schedule around it.

[#15]
I have 4 home made target stands and ~90 IPSC metric targets.
If you can muster the stands, I can supply the targets.

I'm planning on arriving at 09:00. With an hour of setup that puts rounds down range at 10:00.
If we start much earlier the neighbors might get upset.
If we start later folks who have to leave around mid-day (like me) won't get to have any fun.

That work for everybody else?
Link Posted: 8/15/2004 11:06:19 AM EDT
[#16]
sounds good, i should be able to work out the stands, i will also be able to bring targets, standard shilouetes are about right,

just for keeping in mind, if you plan on using a dot sight that if you dont adjust it you may encounter paralax problems, as the max distance is 25 meters, i know yall know, but people forget when they are shooting and wonder why they are having prollems putting rounds center mass.

another point i should bring up is that if you have a rig to carry mags you might wanna bring it, since you execute a reload during the set.

Only one reload?
Guess I can leave the LBE at home!

Not familiar with cqm stages but I'm a really fast learner and sounds interesting! How much ammo does this take for these?, My stock pile is getting a bit thin.
I'm over on the west side of the state but 9 am shouldn't be a problem.

Close Quarters Marksmanship

It's a blast! You just gotta remember to aim a couple inches high.

Sounds Gravy.

I'm gonna try to get together some ammo for this weekend.
I'm willing to cut out some ISPC style card board sillouettes.
What else is needed for setting up a CQM stage?
Cardboard concealment, barriers, timers, etc??

if you get an lbv bring it, lol, thats part of the deal about the class, gettting used to gear.

for those of you who dont know cqm is the armys basic entry level close quarters  shooting program, lots of movement, lots of spinning engagements from stationary positions, its the funnestv stuff ive ever shot with an instructor

theres no emphasis on "advanced combat tacticle bullshit" that takes aw3ay from the fun, its just pure moving and shooting.

while none of the stages have cover, you can feel free to bring something and we can improvise and improve as we go, its about fun so lets have some.

If not, I hope you guys have a grand ole' time

That CQM sounds really cool. Is it a timed event or a scored one? or a combination of both?
Link Posted: 8/17/2004 8:10:00 PM EDT
[#27]
sort of timed, its scored on a hit no hit basis, a hit anywhere in the black is a hit, but if anyone so desires, for competition sake you can score it with the standard shiloute scoring method, as for time everyone moves thru at the same time so it doesnt really matter

Pam and I are coming, I am bringing 10 bowling pins in case you can use them, otherwise they are fun to plink at 50 and 100.

Haha, you always seem to learn something at a shoot.  Don't shoot when it is below zero, keep a leatherman for stuck earplugs, and now this.  I wish I had been there.

We really appreciate it, and I know it meant a lot to the both of us to have so much support from tha ARFCOMers.

I will be sure to ket you know when he will be coming home again, becuase I think that a Pit shoot has become an instant tradition with us and our ladies.

Thanks again for your help.
