Hi guys, from FL here. Going up the TN for a few weeks at the end of the year with the family and some friends. We were thinking of a pig roast. I am taking a few rifles and thought why not hunt. Is there any where to hunt hogs near Wears Valley? Going to do a google search, but thought you guys will be best. Thanks!

Believe it or not, hog hunting is generally illegal in Tennessee.

TWRA declared wild hogs a nuisance sseveral years ago and really opened up the seasons and no bag limits. This encouraged people to introduce wild hogs to areas that didn't previously have them causing the problem to spread. There was so much outcry over crop and habitat destruction that TWRA shut that down. Landowners can still get depredation permits but TWRA is trying to handle the problem themselves. You will be loved tenderly if the possum cops catch you transporting a wild hog living or dead.
